Haute Route Market Sales Manager - DACH (Deutschland – Austria – Swiss (CH))

We are looking for an energetic and experienced sales representative living in Germany who understands amateur cycling and who has existing relationships with bike clubs, teams, shops, and coaching companies nationwide.

Job Details

This position will develop a clear DACH (Deutschland – Austria – Swiss (CH)) Sales & Trade Marketing Strategy in line with the Global sales Objectives, in both online and instore environments. The initiatives put in place will maximize both drive sell through and brand equity. This will be achieved by building 360 ° trade account profiles, and creating programs and initiatives that can be rolled out across the region to ensure a strong registration level inside each Haute Route events.

The Market Sales Manager is integrated and supported by all Global departments in entry sales & marketing, and ensure alignment on all templates, budget and planning documents. They will successfully manage, lead and develop the sales and trade marketing initiatives in the local markets in line with the regional and local commercial strategies.

Actively participates in projects and working parties, or to carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit, that will benefit the individual, the Division or the Company as a whole.

Haute Route Market Sales Manager will report directly to Global Marketing & Entry Sales Director.


Sales Missions:

- Develop sales strategies tailored to the various customers of Haute Route (bike shops, teams, clubs , coaching companies).

- Enter all leads created by the various customers of Haute Route (bike shops, teams, clubs, coaching companies). into the CRM system and turn them into sales prospects

- Build a database of potential customers.

- Prospect new sales.

- Develop and manage relationships with new and existing customers.

- Responsible for achieving entry sales quotas.

- Provide weekly entry sales reports to management team.

- Provide accurate and timely entry sales forecasts to management.

- Develop strategies to leverage the reps’ networks of Haute Route partners/sponsors

Trade Marketing Missions:

- Set-up, promote, and host sales events towards all the « on-the-ground marketing » levers.

- Increasing retail sell through velocity by supporting the retail outlets

- Generating brand awareness with key influencer groups and the wider cycling community through own lead publicity, and working with Haute Route Global teams on marketing programs

- Train the various customers of Haute Route sales teams (bike shops, teams, clubs , coaching companies) to understand the key benefits, differences and features of the Global Haute Route Offer

- Working with retail outlets to influence and deliver tailored in-store merchandising, growing the presence of the brand within the retail & club networks.

- Completing Haute Route events global offer and brand promotion at events, expos, races, shows including coordination of promotional material and stall set up / take down

- Remaining continuously up to date with the data related to the Haute Route offer information.

- Being an ambassador for Haute Route Brand

- Build relationships with the retail, club, tour operators networks giving added values and acting as an Haute Route expert

- Reporting of field activities to the company including competitor activities, store visit reports and customer feedback



- Demonstrated success in sales: A killer sales instinct and an eye for opportunity.

Brand Consistency across touchpoints

- Ensure the stores and accounts consistently reflect the desired brand ethos via implementation of the highest visual standards, marketing initiatives and latest brand thinking, through consistent visits, model store sign offs and regular communication

Brand Integrity

- Ensuring the integrity of the brand is maintained at all times, with the appropriate use of the Haute Route Guidelines that reflect both corporate marketing activity and local, regional needs

Visual Merchandising

- Deliver and ensure new brand seasonal imagery is shown across all retail partners stores - Deliver and ensure seasonal POP is displayed in store (remove previous season) - Merchandise product using seasonal plan and best practice Haute Route guide - Assist in merchandising our Hubs at the beginning of each season


- Send weekly reports to marketing and sales teams, outlining store visits, feedback from staff on sales, outstanding deliveries and include images of store visual merchandising - Maintain POP/ Imagery database - Share any feedback from retailers with sales and marketing teams - Identify and share opportunities and threats out in the trade


- Developing Store Managers and Sales Associates in owned locations through on-site training, adhoc coaching and formal training days - Training retail partners on the Haute Route offer, visual expectations, marketing initiatives and general brand desirables - Full participation in, and contribution to, seasonal training events in various external, regional locations

General Support

- Assist the Marketing team where required at events - Provide Ad Hoc support to on Haute events - Provide support where required by the business on brand and product education


- Event Registration increase - Overall sales percentage growth in targeted stores, clubs. - Number of completed clubs, store visits per month, - ratio number of staff reached per visit; - Gained in store opportunities, in store positioning and brand adjacencies;

- Existing relationships with bike clubs, teams, shops, tour operators and coaching companies nationwide a must

- Knows how to balance confidence and humility.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Confident public speaker; strong presentation skills.

Qualifications and Experience (Years of experience & background required)

- Minimum two years of experience in a similar role or within a related retail environment

- Deep understanding of the cycling industry. Extensive personal experience as a cyclist preferred, but not required.

- German native

- Fluent in English

- Ability to speak French will be highly appreciated

Travel Required:

50% travel required (Mainly domestic, some International).
