As part of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Eurovision Sport is the most trusted and well-established media partner for international sport federations and event organizers seeking the widest reach of audiences across Europe and throughout the world.
Eurovision Sport exploits, manages and develops commercially the acquisition and sales of sports rights deals (for all platforms including radio) and provides high-quality services.
The EBU is looking for a
Director of Eurovision Sport
The Director of Eurovision Sport secures the rights for international sport events of relevance for PSB, ensuring the variety of the sports programming for the European audience in accordance with the overall strategy.
S/He manages the key partner Federation relationships (in conjunction with their team) and works closely with Member organisations to ensure a unified approach to rights acquisition.
S/He also sets the strategic goals for the Department. S/He manages the department and monitors its activities, with a view to motivating the staff to a high degree of performance and creativity.
Specific qualifications, skills and experience:
Education: Postgraduate qualification in business administration
Languages: Excellent written and spoken English and French. Other language a plus.
Excellent negotiations skillsAbility to anticipate future market developmentsA good understanding of the digital sports marketplaceAbility to build relationships of trusts, particularly with Member organisations and Federations.Strong self-control and stress resilienceSolid organization skills and project management capabilitiesGood communicatorAbility to lead, innovate, inspireAbility to share and collaborate with peers and subordinatesUnderstanding of Public Service Media values and goals.Business oriented individual combining a strong commercial approach with the capacity to accommodate the complexity of the EBUExperience with Sports Rights and services market, both in public and private organizationsExtensive experience in various areas of Sports and of broadcasting, preferably in a Member organisation or within competing organisations.Success in managing high energy, high risk projectsProven successful management experience in an international environmentSignificant experience in analysing broadcaster needs
